We set ourselves an ambitious goal with the Motive 2: to build the best fully active 2.1 speaker set for multimedia applications. Since PCs are used more and more often as music jukeboxes, there should be no reason why lovers of high-quality sound reproduction should have to compromise on the desktop.
So it was high time that Teufel set themselves the task of developing a fully active 2.1 stereo system for listeners with high-end requirements that would put all other PC systems in the shade in terms of faithful reproduction and sound quality. We reached this goal with the Motiv 2. And we admit that it also ended up becoming really attractive in the process :).
The foundations for the best sound are in the speaker chassis used. Therefore, exceptionally high-quality high- and mid-tone speaker cones have been used for both white satellites that are otherwise only used in purely hi-fi loudspeakers. A precisely developed frequency switch allows perfect adjustment of the 100 mm mid-bass-tone chassis and the 25 mm tweeter in the cast softline case.
Motiv 2 owners will be pleased to find out that, because of the 100 mm cone used here, there is clearly more sound pressure available than with technically similar sets in this and considerably more expensive price classes, where only simpler 80 mm chassis are normally used.
The cube-shaped fully active subwoofer has a 200 watt power amplifier that provides 100 watts alone for the 25 cm bass speaker, while both satellites are more than amply supplied with 50 watt pure tone each. This generous performance equipment is the fundamental basis both for high continuous volume and intensive dynamic jumps that bring music to life.
We are particularly proud of the oval bass reflex opening in the bottom of the box whose radius allows virtually no interference even at higher levels and underlines in detail the lavish design of the Motiv 2.
It's not just the connected PC that benefits from this sound quality: it lets you rediscover your favourite songs again and again. Because the Motiv 2, which can of course be controlled by remote control, allows connection of up to three signal sources, so that a universal iPod dock, any MP3 player, TV set or any other stereo sources can also be used.
